The Hydrotherapy Pool & Sauna
At Pennybridge we needed to provide water exercise for a family member and could not find a suitable venue for this in the vicinity….so we built the pool! The pool is half in ground and half above ground making access easy. We have a hoist for those who need to be lowered into the water.
The pool is run using renewable energy sources and is well insulated. The pool hall reflects the temperature of the water so when you get out of the pool you do not freeze! There is a curtained changing area and domestic shower alongside a disabled friendly toilet facility.
The pool is designed specifically to allow easy access for people who are challenged physically. We installed a ceiling tracking hoist system so that anyone wheelchair bound may also enjoy the very warm water of the pool. The pool is kept as close to 34 degrees as we can to warm up aching joints and to encourage movement in a weightless environment. The pool has two current meters to provide a swimming challenge for strong swimmers and also a Jacuzzi area if you just wish to sit and have a gentle water massage…..all in pleasantly warm water.
The barrel sauna seats four people comfortably and is a unique experience for many customers.
Alongside the bright and airy pool hall there is a small gym room with a treadmill and cross trainer for those who are keen to keep fit.
Access to the whole building is by concrete ramped pathway easily accessible for wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties.
